Waste & recycling
Waste and recycling collections in Sedgemoor are provided by the Somerset Waste Partnership.
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Waste Disposal and Collection
Please note that Coronavirus related staff shortages could lead to missed recycling collections. For further information, please see Latest News - Somerset Waste Partnership.
Personal waste (e.g. used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste within your own room. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.
Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
For further information on COVID-19, please see Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Advice for Residents.
All containers out by 6am please
Residents are asked to put recycling and rubbish out for collection by 6am from now until further notice.
This will allow crews to start collections early if needed - for example during a period of hot weather - and give SWP and SUEZ more flexibility when planning how to keep on top of collections and deal with special circumstances such as traffic congestion.
With immediate effect, recycling, rubbish and garden waste should all be put out the night before collection days, or by 6am at the latest on the day itself.
