A Skills Café, which aims to help people learn or improve the skills useful for a fuller life and the world of work in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, opens its doors in Bridgwater with Sedgemoor District Council as one of the lead partners.
Westfield Church in West Street will host the Café which will open every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm. Customers will be able to take advantage of a Daily Deal on refreshments at the same time as seeking advice on a whole range of skills from language and IT to CV writing and interview technique.
Computers and Wi-Fi will be available for use and a number of volunteers will be on hand to assist. There will be a Job Club, Digi-Link sessions and free tuition in English for speakers of other languages. Places on the English courses will need to be booked and this can be done by visiting
Skills Cafe English Course Booking or texting 07584909412.
The Skills Café initiative has been made possible by funding given to Westfield Church and the pooling of other resources by a number of local, national and government bodies keen to ensure no one in the town is left behind when it comes to gaining important skills for living and working here.
