Local Government Secretary's decision rides roughshod over voters of Somerset, say District Council Leaders

Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick, MP, has this evening (Wednesday 21 July) announced he has decided to implement, subject to Parliamentary approval, the proposal for a single unitary council for the whole of the existing administrative county of Somerset. 21/07/21


As part of Love Parks Week (23 July until 1 August) Sedgemoor's Parks team have organised a group dog walk starting at 1000 hrs in the dog agility area in Apex Park on Wednesday, 28th July. The walk will go around the park, up the coast path to the Esplanade, down Marine Drive and back to the park. All dogs must be on a lead and sociable and children must be accompanied by an adult. 13/07/21

New grants to boost tourism in Sedgemoor

The Hinkley Tourism Action Partnership (HTAP) has opened a grant scheme - Tourism Innovation Grant Scheme -aimed at boosting tourism in the Sedgemoor and West Somerset areas. 13/07/21

£50k makeover for Eastover Park

Eastover Park (also known as Cranleigh Gardens) will be getting a £50,000 makeover in time for the summer holidays. Works to replace all the toddler playground equipment will begin on Thursday 8th July and last around one month, subject to good weather. 07/07/21

Get your gardening gloves on

With the arrival of Summer, volunteers at Burnham-on-Sea's Friends of Marine Cove are set to start work in the seafront gardens. All are welcome to join The Friends of Marine Cove in their monthly gardening session. The next monthly gardening sessions are on 7th August, 4th September, 2nd October from 9am-11am. 04/06/21
