Planning a street party?

With only two months to go before the Royal Wedding on May 19th, Sedgemoor District Council is reminding parishes and community groups that there is help and advice about planning a street party or event. 19/03/18

Works to Fore Street and High Street, Bridgwater

Grants for Sports and Leisure

Any community group, sports club or school from Bridgwater can apply for a project grant, provided they can meet at least one of the criteria and are within the eligible area. Successful projects and schemes must seek to increase participation in sport and physical activity. Groups are being encouraged to make sure they benefit from a £500k fund given to Sedgemoor District Council by EDF Energy as part of its plans to build Hinkley Point C. 07/03/18

Volunteers needed for Apex Park Play Day

It may be cold and icy outside, but the organisers of Apex Park Play Day on Wednesday, 1st August are already planning this most popular event and hoping for a hot, sunny day as well as lots of volunteers to make sure the day runs smoothly. 23/02/18

Free chips for dogs

Compulsory micro chipping for dogs became law in April 2016. Recent figures reveal that over 94% of the nation's 8.5 million dogs are micro chipped, but it is still estimated that there are around 500,000 irresponsible dog owners breaking the law by not getting their dog chipped.

Sedgemoor District Council has managed to secure a limited supply of 'woodland mix' spring bulbs for Parish and Town Councils as well as Community groups to plant themselves, to help maintain Sedgemoor's beautiful countryside. 23/10/17
