Committee Meetings

Council members form a variety of committees to control specific areas of the Council. These committees meet on a regular basis, normally within the main Council building at Bridgwater House, King Square. The meetings are open to public attendance, except when confidential (exempt) business is being dealt with.

Audit & Standards Committee

This Committee provides independent assurance to the Council and the Executive of the adequacy of the overall corporate governance and internal control environments including risk management and to oversee the financial reporting process.

Executive

The Executive is the decision making body with the Council's structures to take a range of decisions set out in the Constitution and is chaired by the Leader of Council.

The principal role of Full Council is to agree the Constitution; agree the budget and a number of specific policies and plans and exercise community leadership.

Grants Award Sub-Committee

The sub-committee is responsible for awarding project and amenity grants and reviewing performance against all Service Level Agreements issued with grants.
