Environment Agency Local Flood Risk Standing Advice for Sedgemoor
This Local Flood Risk Standing Advice (LFRSA) for the Sedgemoor area was issued by the Environment Agency in November 2013. It will help applicants and the Council understand the flood risk assessment requirement for an individual planning application and supports the processing of lower risk applications without the need for direct Environment Agency consultation.
Using the LFRSA helps to:
- decide when and why to consult the Environment Agency on a planning application
- identify the types and locations of development for which the EA has provided Local Standing Advice
- access the particular Local Standing Advice which is applicable (the Council will not need to consult the EA in such cases)
The Environment Agency continues to provide case-by-case advice to the Development Management team at Sedgemoor District Council when the LFRSA indicates the need for consultation.
