Want to get fit, be outdoors and meet new people at the same time? Join the free gardening group meeting fortnightly on Tuesday's from 11.30-12.30.
The group are working to turn a little patch of land at Redgate Medical Centre, Bridgwater into a tended growing space whilst improving their health and wellbeing at the same time.
Jacqui Strong from the project said "The first gardening session got successfully underway this Wednesday (2nd November). The group made some good progress but are looking to attract new members to join - no experience is needed, just bring yourself and your enthusiasm to brighten up your local area. Any age or ability is encouraged to come along and get involved. Not only is gardening good for the body it is a great activity for the mind as well. There will be a qualified member of the SASP team available to guide you and answer any questions you have."
Somerset Activity Sports Partnership are working together with Sedgemoor District Council and the Together Team - East Bridgwater on the project. The next session is being held at the medical centre on Westonzoyland Road from 11.30-12.30 on 15th November.
