With a rapidly growing population possessing a wide range of skills, as well as an award winning college, Sedgemoor is the ideal place to recruit and develop your staff.
A proud rural and manufacturing heritage underpins the strong work ethic of our residents. Long standing business links within diverse and high-value business sectors such as distribution, tourism, engineering and food and drink manufacturing make our people work-ready and able to adapt easily to the demands of modern business.
The availability of technical and professional skills training is central to economic growth and prosperity, and Sedgemoor's award-winning Bridgwater & Taunton College has long held an outstanding reputation for successfully engaging with businesses to identify and address their skills training needs.
Working in close partnership with clients that include the Ministry of Defence, Rolls-Royce, EDF Energy, Laing O'Rourke, Mulberry and DHL/Morrisons, the College has invested some £40m in bespoke facilities and new training programmes, enabling businesses to up-skill or re-train their workforce in readiness for the regeneration and supply chain opportunities ahead.
The College's traditional role as a tertiary college for 16 - 18 year olds remains key, with a curriculum offer that ranges from Traineeships and Apprenticeships through to degree level qualifications delivered in partnership with top universities. Success rates far exceed national averages and the College has maintained its Ofsted 'outstanding' rating for the past 14 years.
