Sedgemoor District Council is already taking bookings for its popular Annual Business Conference that this year promises to be as thought provoking as ever with its focus on Sedgemoor the place and the opportunities it offers for growth and inward investment. To be held at the McMillan Theatre, Bridgwater on November 30, there is a packed agenda with speakers from inside and outside the District and from local and national organisations as well as plenty of chances to network. 08/10/18
A highlight will be a presentation from specialist strategic consultants, Earth, who are working with the council to challenge perceptions, find a voice and attract investment and who will be looking for valuable input from the District's businesses.
In one of the most significant developments since the go ahead was given for Hinkley Point C, Martin Bellamy from Salamanca will launch officially the Enterprise Zone to be built at Puriton which promises to bring around 4,000 jobs and further investment to the District.
Cllr Anne Fraser, Portfolio Holder for Inward Investment and Growth at Sedgemoor and chair of the conference said: "We have been saying for the last few years that these are exciting times for the District and we are really beginning to see the difference the influx of new businesses is making.
"We need to ensure we work together to take full advantage of all these opportunities and conferences like ours are a good way of sharing information and building collaboration so we can all benefit.
"I would like to extend an invitation to all local businesses to send a representative to attend this year's free event.
