Over 7,000 people attended yet another fantastic Play Day at Apex Park in Highbridge. 02/08/18
The ethos of Playday is to allow Families to have a free day out, during the summer holidays and to allow children to take part in a wide range of activities which they might then take up in the future. It runs in line with National Playday up and down the country and ours is one of the largest in the Country and has won awards previously. This was the eleventh year for Sedgemoor Playday and there were over 40 activities for children and adults to enjoy.
Whilst it could not be organised without a very active committee who raise over £6,000 to put on the event, Sedgemoor contribute £2500 towards the event. This pays for toilets, a marquee, first aid and the climbing wall.
Five of Sedgemoor's staff were on hand during the day to deal with management of the event as well as the Clean Surroundings workforce who tirelessly replenish loos and service litter bins. They also supply and install all the barriers, as well as deal with the mammoth clean-up operation.
Sedgemoor District Council would like to thank all the volunteers and organisations and most of all the PlayDay Committee who helped put on such a fantastic event.
