Christmas and New Year in Sedgemoor

Sedgemoor District Council will remain open for business as usual during the holiday period on all days except bank holidays.

Rubbish and recycling collections will be two days later from Monday 25th to Friday 29th December, and one day later between Monday 1st to Friday 5th January. Community Grants from Sedgemoor

Community groups across the district will benefit from nearly £28,550 of grant funding, thanks to awards given out by Sedgemoor District Council. Othery Village Hall received a grant of £8,500 to build a storage room for table and chairs to replace a tin shack that had to be accessed from outside. The area was officially opened when the Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, Councillor Mike Cresswell handed over a plaque to Pat Adamson Chairman of the Village Hall Management Committee. 27/11/17

Othery Village Hall received a grant of £8,500 Tilly Bond received £500 to help with costs of her selection for the Somerset Cricket Board Girls under-17's tour to Sri Lanka in February 2017.

The BOSHed group received £1,282 for heaters in their meeting place.

Lympsham Tennis Club received £26,168.41 from RLT3 Funds for new court surfacing , new LED flood lights and new perimeter fencing.

The aim of RLT3 Contributions (provision of Outdoor Sport) was to ensure that new housing developments (those granted consent prior to 01 April 2015) made an appropriate contribution towards the provision of additional facilities for outdoor sport in an area local to the development.
