Do you run a small or medium size business in Sedgemoor where a little extra investment could make all the difference? Then a new grant scheme from Sedgemoor District Council could be the answer! Sums of up to £5,000 can be applied for from the £100,000 Sedgemoor Small Business Grant Fund. 01/09/17
The money can be used for number of purposes such as recruitment, staff retention, marketing, research, innovation and diversification as well as new facilities, equipment or processes. There are a set of criteria which businesses will have to comply with to qualify for the fund, including have a full year of accounts.
Sedgemoor's Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth at Sedgemoor, Cllr Anne Fraser, said: "We are known as a pro-business authority and do our best to support companies of all sizes based or relocating here. We are delighted to be in a position to help some of our smaller businesses in this way."
Welcoming the news, Steve Leahy, Chairman of Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, said: "We are really pleased to see this sort of initiative aimed at giving a boost to some of the smaller concerns in the district and we would urge all those that think they might qualify to apply."
