RLT 2 policy contributions for Outdoor Play
The aim of RLT2 Contributions (provision of Outdoor Play) was to ensure that new housing developments (those granted consent prior to 01 April 2015) make an appropriate contribution towards the provision of additional facilities for outdoor play in an area local to the development.
What can RLT2 funds be used for?
The developers contributions can be spent on providing new facilities and upgrading existing Outdoor Play facilities such as;
- Land acquisition for play space
- New playground equipment items and associated Youth Facilities
- Ancillary items for the playground i.e. gates, Dog Proof fencing, Tarmac link footpaths, litter bins etc.
- Provision of new safety surfacing
RLT2 funds cannot be used to support on-going maintenance costs. Town and Parish Councils are the main applicants for RLT2 funds. We welcome applications from organisations such as Play Area Committees and Trustees.
