Community Right to Bid

As part of the Localism Act 2011 Sedgemoor District Council has adopted a policy on dealing with applications to register land or property under the Community Right to Bid/Assets of Community Value.

Any voluntary or community organisation including Town and Parish Council's with a local connection based in Sedgemoor or a neighbouring authority can nominate an asset for inclusion on the list. It is important that any group considering pursuing this course of action carefully reads the guidance notes and ensure that they both qualify as a nominating group and the land or property as an asset of community value. The relevant forms that need completing are attached and can be submitted online or by way of a hard copy via post.  The forms are laid out on pages 15; 16; 17 and 18 of the attached Policy Statement. Alternatively, the form can be filled out online by following the link below.

Should you require any clarification please do not hesitate to contact Tim Mander the Council's Team Leader - Property Management either by email tim.mander@sedgemoor.gov.uk or via the contact details below.
