  • Somerset County Council Elections

    The Notice of election for Somerset County Council have been published in Sedgemoor. Sedgemoor's election team administers the election, due to be held on May 4, on behalf of Somerset County Council. 22/03/17

  • Fancy becoming a Councillor?

    Following the resignation of Councillor Moira Brown who served on both Sedgemoor District Council and Bridgwater Town Council, Eastover Ward, elections have been requested in both seats, if contested, these elections will coincide with the Somerset County Council elections on May 4th 2017. 22/'03/17

  • Beware of Council Tax scammers

    With council tax bills dropping onto doormats, a phone call that promises to lower your Council Tax banding for a fee of up £95 may sound like a great offer, but you can find out if your band can be lowered for free. These calls are not from Sedgemoor District Council and you should report them immediately. If you have given over personal details, we would advise you to call the Police straight away on 101 and report the matter as an identity theft scam. The Police will also direct you to the Action Fraud helpline on 0300 123 2040. 09/03/17

  • Train in Flexercise

    Flexercise is a countywide initiative promoting physical and mental health and wellbeing through chair based exercise and activity. Sedgemoor District Council is arranging some training for those who wish to know how to run a Flexercise class. 06/03/17

  • Boundary Commission for England starts second public consultation

    The Boundary Commission for England will once again be asking the public to help shape plans to change Parliamentary constituency boundaries as it opened its second consultation on 28 February 2017. Following a decision by Parliament to reduce the number of constituencies in the UK to 600 from 650, and to ensure that the number of electors in each constituency is equal, Boundary Commission for England has been asked to make independent recommendations about where the boundaries of English constituencies should be. 06/03/17

  • Don't be caught out by fly-tippers

    If you are having any waste taken away by a 'man and van', make sure they are licenced to do so; otherwise you could pick up a fine. 06/03/17
