Sedgemoor District Council is offering free parking in all its car parks on the two Saturdays running up to Christmas. People will be able to park without charge in all eighteen of the Council-owned car parks across Sedgemoor on Saturday 15th and Saturday 22nd December. 06/12/18

The scaffolding has come down! SAVE Britain's Heritage is delighted to announce that the final stage of structural repairs and restoration of the façade of Castle House in Bridgwater, Somerset, has now completed. For the first time after many years, the elaborate concrete ornaments of this unique grade II listed building are visible again. 16/11/18
Since 2015, extensive work has been carried out to update the character appraisal and formulate a management plan for the Bridgwater St John's Conservation Area. A consultation draft is now available for a six week period of public consultation on the document, 'Bridgwater St John's Conservation Area: Character Appraisal & Management Plan 2018'. 05/11/18
Over 1000 mixed bulbs were planted in Apex Park this week to spread some spring cheer. Following two postponements due to bad weather, Friends of Apex Park Improvements Group and Sedgemoor District Council's Clean Surroundings Team planted the bulbs to the west and south areas of the lake that should provide some colour within the park next spring. A 32% rise does seem a massive in these days of austerity. In truth, the increase takes the hourly rate of the seven Executive members up to £5.40 an hour, based on 35-hours a week. Given the number of hours worked by the seven Executive members, which were verified by the Independent Panel, the increase in allowance does not take the 'wage' up to the level of the Living Wage Foundation from 1st January 2019 of £9.00 per hour.
