The Housing Advice Service at Sedgemoor District Council provides advice and assistance on a wide range of housing related issues including renting privately, affordable home ownership, homelessness, illegal eviction, registering for social housing (Council or housing association accommodation). All of our advice is free and confidential.
Our Mission Statement - Our vision is to provide an honest, quality advice service, with customer care being paramount. We will do this by:
- Providing high quality advice and assistance in order to prevent homelessness
- Assisting vulnerable people to maintain independent living and
- Treating all customers with respect and dignity

We also hold a weekly Housing Advice surgery at the Princess Hall, Burnham on Sea every Wednesday. There are drop-in sessions from 9.30am to 12.30pm and appointments only from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

Housing Advice Service User Group - Our Housing Advice Service needs your views
Sedgemoor District Council is committed to improving its housing services to provide high standards of customer service to all customers. Setting standards makes it possible for the Council as a whole, and for the Housing Advice Service in particular, to measure how much we are improving. As our customer we need your views on the delivery and continuous improvement of our housing services.
How can I get involved?
We are currently looking for volunteers to be part of a Housing Advice Service User Group. If you would like to be part of the group and can spare a couple of hours in the next few weeks then please contact us.
