The Council's Recruitment and Selection procedure seeks to ensure that equality exists throughout the process. It follows best practice principles of recruitment through establishing the need, identifying the role, and communicating the vacancy as well as selection through short listing and interviewing.
The Council undertakes to reimburse the travel and subsistence for those candidates who attend interview. The Personnel Section co-ordinates the recruitment needs through its marketing of vacancies, assistance with the preparation of job descriptions and selection procedures. Once employed, employees are encouraged to develop through training and development.
