Sedgemoor District Council encourages the development of Arts projects throughout the district by grant aid and working in partnership with Community Arts Organisations.
There are many events held in Sedgemoor throughout the year, the most popular being the annual Sedgemoor Carnivals and Bridgwater Fair.

Health Walks are designed to attract people of all ages who are fairly inactive and wish to participate in some physical activity. Due to the nature of the activity, the walks generally do attract older people. The walking group is led by qualified volunteer walk leaders.

The Stop Line Way is a long distance walking and cycling route, running from Seaton to Weston-Super-Mare. Once completed it will cover 70 miles and connect Axminster, Chard, Ilminster, Taunton, Bridgwater, Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea.
