Sedgemoor District Council is continuing work on the Local Plan 2011-2032 that will help shape the future of our District. When adopted, this new Local Plan will replace the current Development Plan for the District, called the Core Strategy 2006-2027.
Sustainability Appraisal (SA) is a systematic process, aimed at appraising the social, environmental and economic effects of plans, strategies and policies and ensuring that they accord with the objectives of sustainable development. SA is required by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and incorporates Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) as required by the SEA Directive.
A Housing Needs Survey will highlight local demand for both affordable housing and other forms of housing. Affordable housing is for local people who are unable to rent or buy accommodation on the open market.
Sedgemoor District Council is committed to making Sedgemoor a safe place in which to live, work and visit. In order to understand the issues that matter most to you, we want to hear your views on crime and anti-social behaviour, so that we can work together with local partners to address these problems.
The Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 allows local authorities to introduce Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) in specific areas where evidence exists of relevant anti-social-behaviour.
