Sedgemoor District Council's Development Management team work on behalf of local people to protect, enhance and develop the environment, for now and for the future. Our role covers most aspects of planning from building an extension on your house or individual developments to major housing schemes and the protection of the historic built environment.

How to make a Planning Application

You can apply online for approval or download the relevant forms here. In common with all Local Planning Authorities, Sedgemoor District Council uses the national standard application forms.


Planning Online

Have you been notified of a planning application in your local area? Planning Online allows you to view details of planning applications that have been or are being considered by the Council, to monitor the progress of an application and to search a weekly list of applications received and decided.


Planning Enforcement

The Planning Enforcement team investigates allegations of breaches of planning control.
