Zoo Licence

The Zoo Licensing Act 1981 requires that a licence is held to operate a zoo.

A Zoo means "an establishment where wild animals are kept for exhibition to the public otherwise than for the purpose of a circus an otherwise as a pet shop. The Act applies to any zoo to which members of the public have access, with or without payment for admission, on seven or more days in any period of twelve months.
