Litter and Dog Waste Bins

Litter Bins

The Council provides approximately 700 litter bins across the Sedgemoor area to enable residents and visitors to readily dispose of casual waste such as food wrappers and drinks containers.

Bins are emptied on regular frequencies, depending on their usage and location.

The Council repairs or replaces bins that become damaged or vandalised.

Requests for new bin installations will only be considered if supported by and funded by the local town or parish council.

If you notice any of our litter bins that are either full or damaged, please complete a Report a problem with a litter or dog waste bin form.

Please note that dumping waste next to a litter bin is regarded as fly tipping, and it is also illegal to fill litter bins with household or business waste. The Council's enforcement officer will issue Fixed Penalty Notices in such cases.

Dog Waste Bins

The Council services approximately 240 dog waste bins for town and parish councils across the Sedgemoor area. However, bagged dog waste can also be disposed of in litter bins.

Bins are emptied on regular frequencies, depending on their usage and location.
