Bulky waste, clinical waste and assisted collections

How to arrange a bulky item or clinical waste collection, or an assisted collection.

Assisted Collections

Assisted collections are available elderly or infirm people who are having difficulties getting their refuse to the usual collection point, and have no one else able to do it on their behalf. If you require an assisted collection, please contact us.

Bulky Waste Collection

If you have good quality furniture or an appliance for reuse please contact Sedgemoor Furniture Store

If you cannot arrange re-use the Council provides a bulky waste collection and disposal service.

There is a charge of £41.00 for collection of up to three items and then £11.00 for each additional item payable prior to collection. No more than 5 items are collected per visit.

The service allows the collection of fridges/freezers, cookers, settees, beds and other similar items. 

To request a bulky waste collection please contact Customer Services. Payment can be made by debit or credit card ( 0.85% charges applies to credit cards )

Please note there will be an administration fee of £15.00 for any collection cancelled within 48 hours. There are no refunds after 48 hours.

Clinical Waste

The Council provide a Clinical Waste Collection service to private domestic households. Clinical waste is any waste that poses a threat of infection to humans. This would include blood or bodily fluids, swabs or dressings, syringes or other sharp instruments used for treatment.
