Sedgemoor Conference Celebrating Business and Manufacturing

Businesses of all sizes are invited to attend a major conference in Sedgemoor. As a centre for manufacturing within Somerset, Sedgemoor District Council has economic growth as a key priority. There are many well-known brands who have their roots in, or links to, the area and that will be the message of Sedgemoor District Council's Business Conference 'Made In Somerset' at the start of December. 02/11/17

The conference will be held in the McMillan Theatre, Bridgwater on Friday, December 1st will reflect Sedgemoor's outward focus to the rest of Somerset, the South West and UK as an integral part of its inward investment, marketing and trading activities.

Among the speakers will be Karl Tucker from Yeo Valley; Richard Clothier from Passion for Somerset and Wyke Farms; Chris Pratt of Elecsis and Bob Montgomery of Longleat Enterprises, who own Cheddar Caves. Products featured will range from food and drink to bespoke joinery and handbags.

There will be a welcome from the managing director of Nuclear New Build at EDF Energy, Humphrey Cadoux-Hudson and advice about working as part of the Hinkley Supply Chain from Jamie Driver from EDF Energy. Kate Doodson of Cosmic will be sharing tips of using Social Media in Marketing.

Cllr Anne Fraser, Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth at Sedgemoor who will be chairing the conference, commented: "We are extremely proud of our industrial heritage and of our current record for attracting new businesses and enterprise.

"When we started to think about the amount of things that are made here, from willow goods to high tech switchgear and from quality conservatories to precision engineered components, the list just grew and grew."
